Henning Receives ESCMID Young Investigator Award

We are delighted to share that Henning, senior physician and physician-scientist at our lab, has been awarded the prestigious Young Investigator Award by the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID).

Henning’s research focuses on neutralizing antibodies targeting viruses and the complex interplay between viral pathogens and the human immune response. Combining fundamental laboratory research with translational clinical proof-of-concept studies, he has made significant contributions to the identification, characterization, and development of potent antiviral antibodies—especially against HIV—and has advanced our understanding of immune responses following vaccination and infection.

His work includes several Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials, which demonstrated the clinical efficacy of HIV antibodies, as well as the investigation of novel therapeutic approaches, such as inhaled SARS-CoV-2 antibody delivery.
